Periodic limb movement in sleep?

My husband has PLMS, and it drives me crazy. It's about every 20 seconds, for up to an hour most nights. He won't go to the doctor and it doesn't bother him, but it stops me sleeping, sometimes. I don't think it's RLS, as he doesn't have it during the day. Any ideas on how to deal with it?
