What would you do if your teenage son is very angry at you?

Here's the situation, I've scolded my teenage son for not reporting to school and then roaming around buying anything he wants until his 3 day allowances was spent in the situation. He got very angry with me and then we cannot control him anymore, we needed the help of neighbors, friends and a police officer to calm him down. but then he showed his fist in a tight manner as if he's gonna punch me. I think we have done the right thing, but then trust was gone.
